Philippians 1:27-2:4 — Exhortation to Unity
Phil.1.27-2.4
27Only conduct your lives as citizens in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I may hear about your circumstances, that you are standing firm in one spirit , with one soul striving together for the faith of the Gospel, 28and not being frightened in any way by those who oppose you, which is to them a clear sign of destruction, but of your salvation, and this is from God. 29For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him, 30engaged in the same struggle that you saw in me and now hear is in me.
Chapter 2
1Therefore, if there is any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, 2make my joy complete so that you are of the same mind, having the same love, united in soul, being of one mind; 3doing nothing out of selfish ambition nor out of empty pride, but in humility considering others as more important than yourselves, 4each of you looking not to your own interests, but each of you also to the interests of others.
