Colossians 1:24-2:5 — Paul's Labor for the Church
Col.1.24-2.5
24Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is lacking of the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of his body, which is the church, 25of which I became a servant according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, 26the mystery that has been hidden for ages and generations, but has now been revealed to his saints. 27To them God chose to make known what are the glorious riches of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28Him we proclaim, admonishing everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ . 29For this I also labor, striving according to his working that works powerfully within me.
Chapter 2
1For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you, and for those in Laodicea, and for all who have not seen my face in the flesh, 2that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, namely, Christ , 3in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge . 4I say this so that no one may deceive you with persuasive speech. 5For although I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing and seeing your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
