Zephaniah 3:9-20 — Restoration Promised
Zeph.3.9-20
9For then I will change the speech of the peoples to pure speech, so that all of them may call on the name of Yahweh and serve him with one accord . 10From beyond the rivers of Cush my suppliants, the daughter of my dispersed people, will bring my offering. 11On that day you will not be put to shame because of all your deeds by which you rebelled against me, for then I will remove from your midst your proudly exultant ones, and you will never again be haughty on my holy mountain. 12But I will leave in your midst a people humble and poor, and they will take refuge in the name of Yahweh. 13The remnant of Israel will do no wrong and speak no lies, nor will a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth; for they will graze and lie down, and no one will make them afraid. 14Sing for joy, daughter of Zion; shout aloud, Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem! 15Yahweh has taken away the judgments against you; he has turned away your enemy. Yahweh, the King of Israel, is in your midst; you will fear disaster no more. 16On that day it will be said to Jerusalem: Do not fear, Zion; do not let your hands grow weak. 17Yahweh your God is in your midst, a mighty one who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you with his love; he will exult over you with singing. 18I will gather those who grieve over the appointed feast; they were from you, and reproach was a burden on them . 19Behold, at that time I will deal with all who oppress you. I will save the lame and gather the outcast, and I will make them a name and a praise in every land where they were put to shame. 20At that time I will bring all of you in, at the time when I gather you together. For I will make all of you a name and a praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I restore your captivity before your eyes, says Yahweh.
