Zephaniah 3:1-8The Future of Jerusalem

Zeph.3.1-8
1Woe to the rebellious and defiled, the oppressing city ! 2She did not listen to the voice; she did not accept correction. In Yahweh she did not trust; to her God she did not draw near. 3Her princes in her midst are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they leave nothing for the morning. 4Her prophets are reckless, men of treachery; her priests have profaned the sanctuary; they have done violence to the law. 5Yahweh is righteous in her midst; he does no injustice. Morning by morning he brings his justice to light; it is not absent, but the unjust knows no shame. 6I have cut off nations; their corner towers are desolate. I have laid waste their streets, with no one passing through. Their cities are destroyed, without a man, without an inhabitant. 7I said, “Surely you will fear me; you will accept correction.” Then her dwelling would not be cut off, according to all that I have appointed concerning her. But they rose early and corrupted all their deeds. 8“Therefore wait for me,” declares Yahweh, “for the day I rise up for the prey . For my decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them my indignation, all my burning anger; for in the fire of my jealousy all the earth will be consumed.”
