Titus 2:1-15 — What Must Be Taught to Various Groups

Titus.2.1-15

¹But as for you , speak the things that are proper for sound teaching. ²Teach the older men to be temperate, dignified, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love, and in endurance. ³Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine. They are to teach what is good, ⁴so that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, ⁵to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, so that the word of God may not be dishonored. ⁶Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. ⁷Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity , ⁸and sound speech that is beyond reproach, so that the opponent may be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us. ⁹Urge slaves to be submissive to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, ¹⁰not stealing, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the teaching of God our Savior. ¹¹For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, ¹²instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, ¹³as we wait for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, ¹⁴who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own special possession, zealous for good works. ¹⁵Speak these things, and encourage and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.
