Galatians 2:1-10 — Paul Accepted by the Apostles
Gal.2.1-10
1Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along also. 2I went up in response to a revelation, and I set before them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those of repute, lest somehow I might be running or had run in vain. 3But not even Titus, who was with me, was compelled to be circumcised, even though he was a Greek. 4Now this was because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who slipped in to spy out our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, in order that they might enslave us. 5To them we did not yield in submission even for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might remain with you. 6But from those reputed to be something—whatever they once were makes no difference to me; God does not show partiality—those of repute, I say, added nothing to me. 7But on the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel for the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been for the circumcised 8(for he who worked effectually in Peter for the apostleship to the circumcised also worked effectually in me for the Gentiles), 9and when they recognized the grace that had been given to me, James and Cephas and John, those reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship , in order that we should go to the Gentiles, but they to the circumcised. 10They asked only that we should remember the poor, the very thing I was also eager to do.
