2 Peter 1:3-11 — Confirming One's Calling and Election
2Pet.1.3-11
3His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and excellence . 4Through these he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become sharers in the divine nature , having escaped the corruption that is in the world through desire. 5And for this very reason, bringing all diligence to bear, supply in your faith excellence, and in excellence knowledge. 6And in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control, steadfastness; and in steadfastness, godliness. 7And in godliness, brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love. 8For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being idle or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9But whoever lacks these qualities is blind, shortsighted, having forgotten the cleansing from his former sins. 10Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for by doing these things you will never stumble. 11For in this way entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly supplied to you.
